Trusting the Intuition Rather Than the Merely Rational Mind - The Radial Dive

We have tremendous potentialities in our intuitive region.  They generally remain untapped.  The Radial Dive helps us bring them into our everyday life.  Expansive awareness augments our mental composure and wisdom.  The nature of the Radial Drive is explored in this article briefly.

The vast majority of people falls a prey to the habitual way the mind functions and rarely questions the lack of wisdom behind it.  The mind, as it slips into the conventional rut, is controlled by environmental pressures and the neurological habits inherited genetically.  The elements that force the mind into the rut are indeed very powerful.  That is how millions of people are sucked into the rut and remain unaware of the prison that they build for themselves.  This happens in the field of religion too where the proverbial proclivity “One believes what one wants to believe” controls the psychology.  All in all, human beings are wrapped up in self-enclosing and self-satisfying cocoons creating antagonism between various groups.  A kind of cold war goes on between the groups and, not too infrequently, it explodes into hot wars too!

In order that we wake up to this deplorable degradation, we must turn to our intuition for perception rather than allow the merely rational mind to rule the roost.  This ushers in a clear departure from the conventional rut – a rut that gradually turns men into robots.  As a robot, the reactions are completely controlled by the residues in the mind and by the inherited human traits.  That is how we have produced a society of robots and not of human beings!   Once the value of intuition is understood, the tyranny of the merely rational mind begins to dissolve.  There is a feeling of being unburdened.  A childlike freshness begins to flower inwardly.  One gradually gets out of the rut and helps others do the same.   The departure from the rut chalks out a new trail with its freshness and wisdom.  On this blessed trail, self-awareness keeps company and puts a brake on the robotic behavior.  Sooner or later, the robot quits, thereby allowing the true human being to emerge.

At this point, a natural question would be “How do we let the intuition get the better of the merely rational mind?”  This is where the Radial Dive becomes meaningful.  The Radial Dive is in sheer contrast to the circumferential whirling that the mind is used to through its conventional thought process based heavily on verbal analysis.  The Radial Dive is a matter of non-verbal contact with life and that is how it takes one’s awareness away from the rut.  That is also how it lets the intuition move in, to take charge.  Just observing how the conventional mind relies on the habit of verbalized analysis and its self-enclosing limitations, we can understand the freshness brought in by the non-verbal contact with life.  Simultaneously, we open the door for our intuition to surface; thus, the esoteric journey begins.

The mediocrity that sets in due to the circumferential mental analysis makes a person lose interest in life or makes him heavily dependent on sectarian religious systems which only succeed in producing a modified robot!  People who step out of those conditioning influences are the ones who let their intuition take charge and produce a different world for themselves and others - a world of harmony and unqualified compassion.

One of the items, amongst many, that can augment the Radial Dive is attention to the messages from Near Death Experiences.  They make us re-evaluate our disposition towards various aspects in life – our relationship to people and to other things in life, our aspirations, our understanding of the difference between ego-satisfaction and soul-satisfaction, etc.  All these help us polarize our psychology towards wholesome living in which we care for others as much as we do for ourselves.  Our composure will no longer be at the mercy of circumstances.

More about the Radial Dive and the value of non-verbal awareness are explained in the book “In Quest of the Deeper Self”.  Please visit the site http://spirituality.yolasite.com for information on the book.  The author may be contacted at [email protected]
